Chore Jacket – “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down”

One-of-a-kind
Each chore jacket was carefully reimagined from a 1960s Butterick pattern—reshaped, resized, and rebuilt. It features a pointed collar, pocket flaps, and metal buttons. The body is pieced together from deadstock red-and-white ticking and natural denim scraps.
The sun motif on the back is my original drawing—tattooed with thread. Wrapped around the sleeve are lyrics:
“Don’t let the sun go down…”
Elton John’s words feel like a plea—don’t forget me, even when things get hard. That message stuck with me. I like to believe there’s still a way for all of us to keep the sun from going down.
